Current Ministers of the Government of Dominica
- Roosevelt Skerrit, Member of Parliament for Vieille Case Constituency, has served since the 2000 General Election and remains Dominica’s Prime Minister and Minister for Investment in the Ministry of Investment and Governance. His leadership has spanned over two decades, during which he has overseen major housing, education, and climate resilience projects. As head of the executive, he also coordinates government strategy and foreign relations.
- Dr. Irving McIntyre, elected in the 2019 General Election, represents the Roseau Valley Constituency. He serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, Climate Resilience and Social Security. With a professional background in medicine, McIntyre plays a central role in budgetary planning, national investment policy, and the country’s resilience-building framework.
- Dr. Vince Henderson represents Grand Bay Constituency, having won his seat in the 2022 General Election. As Minister for Foreign Affairs, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade, and Energy, he leads diplomatic engagement and energy policy, drawing on years of experience as Dominica’s former ambassador to the United Nations and the United States.
- Rayburn Blackmoore was appointed to the Senate following the 2022 elections and holds the Minister for National Security position in the Ministry of National Security and Legal Affairs. He is a long-serving Labour Party figure who oversees crime prevention, police affairs, and legal policy, maintaining a central voice in matters of national order and justice.
- Cassanni Laville, Member of Parliament for Mahaut Constituency, was elected in 2019. He is the Minister for Health in the Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Social Services. His portfolio includes managing Dominica’s public health system, supporting vulnerable populations, and enhancing access to wellness services across the island.
- Melissa Poponne-Skerrit, first elected in 2019 for Roseau Central Constituency, serves as Minister for Housing in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. Her work centres on community revitalisation, affordable housing, and urban planning, particularly in response to housing losses after Hurricane Maria.
- Roland Royer, elected in 2022 as the MP for the Cottage Constituency, is the Minister for Agriculture in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy. He oversees Dominica’s agro-ecological initiatives, food production, marine sustainability, and environmentally responsible growth in primary industries.
- Denise Charles-Pemberton, MP for Soufriere Constituency since the 2016 General Election, is Minister for Tourism in the Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives. She leads Dominica’s tourism policy, responsible for post-pandemic recovery in the sector, destination marketing, and the promotion of sustainable eco-tourism across the island.
- Fidel Grant has represented the Wesley Constituency since 2019 and is the Minister for Public Works in the Ministry of Public Works, Public Utilities, and Digital Economy. - Miriam Blanchard, elected in 2022 for Roseau North, is the Minister for Labour in the Ministry of Labour, Public Service Reform, Social Partnership, Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development.
