Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Concord Valley

A police investigation is underway following the death of a 34-year-old motorcyclist whose body was discovered below a bridge in the Concord Valley area on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Rennix Francis of Belles. According to the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force, officers responded to a report at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, after an unresponsive man was seen below a bridge in the Concord Valley area.
Upon arrival, police found Francis’ body in water beneath the bridge with visible injuries. His motorcycle was also located near the scene.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Francis had been travelling from the Kalinago Territory towards Belles during the early hours of Saturday morning before the incident occurred. The exact circumstances leading to the crash have not yet been established.
Francis was transported to the Marigot Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His body was later transferred to a funeral home pending the completion of a post-mortem examination.
Acting Assistant Superintendent of Police and Police Public Relations Officer Fixton Henderson said investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident and have not ruled out any possibilities at this stage.
The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force has extended condolences to the family and friends of the deceased while urging anyone with information that may assist the investigation to contact the nearest police station.
Authorities are reminding motorists, particularly motorcyclists, to exercise caution while travelling, especially during the late-night and early-morning hours when visibility may be reduced and road conditions can become more hazardous. The investigation into the fatal road traffic incident remains ongoing.
