Job Description
The Dominica State College seeks the services of a trained, dedicated sportsman or sportswoman who knows and loves sports and young people, for the position of Sports Coach in the office of the Dean of Student Affairs.
Responsibility
Job Summary: The Sports Coach is a passionate, ambitious and competent sportsperson who oversees all teams’ activities, supervises games and training sessions, assists with recruitment, maintaining teams records and making travel arrangements to and from matches. The Coach maintains a positive team environment and ensures that students, facilities and training equipment are adequately prepared. The Coach shall also assist and facilitate DSC student and staff wellness activities.
The Coach reports to the Coordinator of Student Activities.
Experience and Qualifications
- Verifiable evidence of knowledge of and involvement in different sports (with supporting statements from key sports stakeholders)
- Coaching experience (with documentary proof)
- First Aid certification and or knowledge of how to mitigate sports injury
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Report-writing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Valid driver's license
