Law Enforcement Career
Irish served for several decades in the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force, rising through the ranks to Assistant Superintendent and subsequently retiring at the rank of Superintendent of Police.
During his active tenure, his duties included managing regional security protocols, establishing joint task forces with municipal and tourism agencies, and managing community-level safety interventions. Community Policing Advisory
In January 2021, the active administration of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force appointed Irish to serve as the national Consultant for Community Policing. Working alongside a designated program coordinator, his mandate focused on restructuring local community security initiatives to reduce municipal crime rates and build direct communication channels between regional neighbourhoods and active police units. His advisory role centres on public awareness campaigns regarding domestic security measures, property safety, and collaborative reporting strategies during major public holiday seasons.
Civic and Humanitarian Leadership
Beyond his public safety positions, Irish participates in national civic and non-profit administration in Dominica:

In this role, he oversees the management of athletic programs, regional compliance standards, and administrative framework updates for athletes with intellectual disabilities. His tenure has focused on expanding organizational transparency and institutional governance metrics.
- The Grotto Home for the Homeless: Irish has served as President of the Board of Directors. During his leadership, he coordinated institutional operations, managed relocation and site development projects, and developed temporary welfare initiatives designed to provide residential support, meals, and social services to vulnerable urban populations.
