Over 4,000 Dominicans Confirmed in National Voter Verification Drive

The Electoral Office has reported that more than 4,000 voters have successfully completed the voter confirmation process since it began on October 15, 2025. The update was delivered by Chief Elections Officer Anthea Joseph, who described the exercise as progressing steadily across all constituencies.
Joseph emphasized that the process is designed to verify and update the Electoral List, ensuring accuracy and transparency ahead of future general elections. “As of today, over 4,000 persons have been confirmed,” she stated, noting that participation remains strong in both urban and rural districts. She urged citizens who have not yet confirmed to do so before the official deadline.
Joseph reminded the public that confirmation centers are open throughout the island, each serving voters within designated polling districts. She reassured citizens that those unable to read or write can still complete the process, as trained officers are on hand to provide assistance while maintaining confidentiality and fairness.
“We want every eligible Dominican to come forward and confirm,” Joseph said. “This is your democratic right, and the process is transparent, simple, and inclusive.”
The Chief Elections Officer also appealed for continued patience as teams work through logistical challenges linked to high turnout in some areas. She reaffirmed that the Electoral Office remains committed to accountability and public confidence in the system.
The voter confirmation drive forms part of a broader modernization effort within the Electoral Office, which includes improvements to registration systems, polling infrastructure, and public outreach. Citizens are encouraged to verify their eligibility early to avoid last-minute congestion at confirmation centers.
