Newtown resident Matthew St. Rose has marked a remarkable milestone, celebrating his 100th birthday on June 16, 2026, surrounded by family, community members and national officials.

The centenarian’s milestone was observed with a church service at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, followed by a celebratory gathering at the St. Alphonsus Parish Hall.
