Electoral Office Introduces Weekly Voter Confirmation in Roseau

The Electoral Office has introduced a new initiative to improve access to voter confirmation services, particularly for individuals who live or work in Roseau but are registered in constituencies across the island.
Under the new system, voter confirmation services will be offered at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium on a rotating weekly schedule, allowing electors from different constituencies to complete the process without returning to their home districts.
Chief Elections Officer Anthea Joseph said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to ensure that no eligible voter is excluded from the confirmation process.
“The office will be offering weekly voter confirmation services at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. Each week, a different constituency will be facilitated so persons can complete their confirmation without having to travel back to their home districts,” Joseph explained.
The rotation is expected to begin in the second week of April, with a monthly schedule to be published through official communication channels. Services will operate during standard confirmation hours, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Joseph noted that the expanded access forms part of a broader strategy to modernize the electoral system and improve participation across the country. “This is just one of the initiatives of the electoral office to ensure that no one is left behind and no Dominican feels excluded from the process,” she said.
The Electoral Office has also reported that both voter registration and confirmation activities are progressing island-wide smoothly, as part of efforts to maintain an accurate and up-to-date voters’ list.
Officials say the initiative reflects their continued commitment to ensuring that the electoral process remains accessible, transparent, and fair for all citizens.
