Job Description

The Orion Academy seeks a committed Social Studies Teacher to guide students in exploring history, geography, and civic life. This position offers the chance to make learning interactive, critical, and relevant to students’ lives. Applicants should be confident using modern teaching methods and integrating technology into lessons to enhance student engagement.

Responsibility

• Teach Social Studies at the secondary level.
• Prepare lesson plans and curriculum materials.
• Assess and monitor student performance consistently.
• Encourage discussion and critical thinking in the classroom.
• Use digital platforms, including Google Classroom, to support learning.

Experience and Qualifications

• Candidate must have an associate degree or higher in Social Studies.
• Prior completion of at least one year of teacher training or relevant teaching certification would be advantageous.
• Candidate has in-depth knowledge in Social Studies.
• Candidate exhibits very good written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and effective communication with colleagues, students and parents.
• Candidate is proficient in utilizing technology for teaching, including an understanding of google classroom, and other digital tools used in an educational setting.
