Vernon Dumas

Vernon Dumas (born 27 May 1978, Dominica) is a Dominican cricketer and former right-handed batsman and medium-pace bowler who represented the Windward Islands in regional teams between 1997 and 2000. He played in eight first-class matches and four List-A matches, known for steady middle-order batting and occasional bowling contributions.

Cricket Career and Playing Role

Dumas emerged from Dominican youth cricket into regional prominence when selected for the Windward Islands squad in the late 1990s. During his eight first-class appearances, he scored 154 runs at an average of 10.26, with a highest score of 31. In List-A play, he featured in four matches, offering flexibility as a dependable batsman who could fill in with medium-pace overs if needed.

A standout highlight outside formal domestic fixtures came in 1999, when Dumas delivered a spectacular for a club side, a 60-ball century featuring 10 sixes and 7 fours, showcasing his aggressive batting capability in local leagues.
