Morne à Louis

Morne à Louis is a Dominican hillside settlement located along Segment #14 of the Waitukubuli National Trail, perched just above Tube Reef, north of Toucari and south of Savane Paille in Saint John Parish. The area commands scenic views over Toucari Bay and Douglas Point, blending residential tranquillity with natural surroundings. Although small, it is a distinct community on the Cottage Route, a local road that weaves through the area and connects it with Savane Paille, Toucari and Cottage.
While Morne à Louis is not a heavily urbanised village, it plays a modest role in the settlement network along Dominica’s northwest coast. The presence of the Waitukubuli National Trail running through it enhances its eco-tourism appeal, drawing hikers, birdwatchers, and local guides familiar with its winding paths and native flora.
With increasing attention on sustainable tourism and heritage routes, Morne à Louis is gradually earning recognition as a quiet waypoint between coastal life and forested highlands.
