Gutter

Gutter, also known as Gutter Village, is a residential community in Saint George Parish, forming part of the Roseau North Constituency. It is located between Goodwill and Tarish Pit, directly behind the Dominica China Friendship Hospital, and can be reached through Charles Avenue, one of Goodwill’s main arteries. Positioned about half a kilometre inland, Gutter overlooks the Caribbean Sea, though it is not a coastal community.

The area is sometimes mischaracterized as a “ghetto,” a label more often pointed to communities such as Silver Lake. In reality, Gutter is a long-standing residential neighborhood, home to families with strong ties to the capital. Residents are closely connected to Roseau’s economy, working in health, education, retail, and services.
