St. Martin Primary Tops 2025 Grade Six National Assessment

The Ministry of Education has officially released the 2025 Grade Six National Assessment results, revealing outstanding performance across primary schools, especially among smaller institutions. Amelia Stephen from St. Martin Primary School emerged as the island’s top performer, leading a list that reflects both diversity and academic excellence.

This year, 742 students, including 369 girls and 373 boys, sat the exams at 58 centres across Dominica, resulting in the award of 86 scholarships and 108 bursaries.

The Ministry emphasized that the success of these students is not confined to large, urban institutions. In fact, analysis suggests school population size had minimal effect on student performance. This insight reinforces the effectiveness of the current education strategy, which supports all schools equally regardless of size or location.

A breakdown of the top-performing schools by overall achievement scores further highlighted the impact of strong academic foundations. Clifton Primary ranked highest with a score of 345.8, followed closely by Pioneer Preparatory (342.8) and Savanne Paille Primary (336.7). Notably, Berean Christian AcademyEbenezer SDA Primary, and Warner Primary also featured prominently on the achievement list.
