Dominica State College to Graduate Approximately 350 Students

Approximately 350 students are expected to graduate from the Dominica State College (DSC) during the institution’s 24th commencement ceremony, marking another significant milestone in higher education on the island.

The graduation ceremony is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium, where graduates from several academic faculties will officially receive their degrees and certificates. College officials say the event will celebrate the perseverance, academic achievement and personal growth of the graduating class.

In advance of the main commencement exercise, the college will host a special honours ceremony on Monday, July 6, at the Goodwill Parish Hall. The ceremony will recognize students who have distinguished themselves through exceptional academic performance and outstanding achievements during their studies.

Graduands will receive qualifications from a range of faculties, including the Faculty of Applied Arts and Technology, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of General Studies. The diverse programmes represented reflect the institution’s continued role in preparing students for careers across multiple sectors of the economy.

This year’s commencement ceremony will feature international climate lawyer and United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiator Annika Bellot as the guest speaker. College officials believe her participation will provide graduates with valuable insights as they prepare to enter an increasingly interconnected and rapidly changing world.

The ceremony will once again be co-hosted by Marketing and Communications Officer Kimberly Benjamin and Senior Information Technology Technician Aldon Gage. Proceedings are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

The Dominica State College has also expressed appreciation to corporate sponsors and partners who continue to support student achievement and the institution’s educational mission. Officials noted that the annual commencement ceremony represents not only a celebration for graduates and their families, but also an important investment in the country’s future human resource development.
