Chinese Govt Delivers First Batch of Medical Supplies to Dominica

A cargo of medical supplies has been airlifted to Dominica, courtesy of the Chinese government, to support the fight against COVID-19. The shipment was donated by the Alibaba Foundation and Jack Ma Foundation. The cargo includes 1,536 PCR kits and 30,000 surgical masks, and they were personally delivered by the Chinese Ambassador to Dominica, Lu Kun.

All the donated items were delivered to the China-Dominica Friendship Hospital with the promise of the Chinese government to deliver more soon. According to Lu Kun, other medical equipment which include 15 ventilators, N95 surgical masks, protective clothing, eye goggles, boots, and digital thermometers among others.

We have said that a friend in need is a friend indeed. This is to show the bilateral support, the strong bilateral relation between China and Dominica. The Chinese government and the Chinese people would also like to do our utmost to help Dominica to fight against this virus.

Minister of Health, Dr. Irving McIntyre, appreciated the Chinese government for their assistance and pledged that the health ministry will put the supplies to good use. He vowed that the supplies will be given to healthcare personnel who are at the frontline of the combat against coronavirus, and that the Dominican government will escalate the fight against the disease.
