Anse de Mai Jetty Nears Completion as EC$4M Upgrade Advances

Work on the new EC$4 million jetty at Anse de Mai is now in its final stages, marking a significant upgrade for fishers and residents in the northeast. During a site visit, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said Phase One is almost complete and will significantly improve access and safety for users who rely on the facility for their daily operations.
He noted that once the current phase is complete, attention will turn to constructing customs and immigration offices to support smoother processing of maritime traffic. The Prime Minister thanked the communities of Anse de Mai and Bense for their patience, saying the investment will strengthen local livelihoods and create a more reliable working environment for fishers.
He also acknowledged the long-standing advocacy of the area’s parliamentary representatives, current MP Lakeyia Joseph and former MP Rosalyn Paul, whose repeated calls helped advance the project. Joseph described the jetty as an essential milestone for the constituency, highlighting its role in improving economic activity and community convenience.
When completed, the facility is expected to support safer docking, enhance coastal infrastructure and provide improved services for small vessels in the area.
