Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the position of Quality Manager. The Quality Manager is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and proposing measures to correct or improve the clinical services of the Dominica Hospitals Authority in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards. The Quality Manager also coordinates the development of Standard Operating Procedures, manages a Risk Management Program, oversees a Charter of Patients’ Rights and Obligations, develops a system for auditing and monitoring operations, organizes quality training activities, and executes the Performance Management System for the unit.
Responsibility
- Monitor, inspect, and propose measures to correct or improve services to meet established standards.
- Coordinate the development of Standard Operating Procedures in collaboration with department heads.
- Coordinate a Risk Management Program for improving quality services.
- Manage a Charter of Patients’ Rights and Obligations, supporting safe and quality care for patients.
- Develop and maintain a system for auditing and monitoring hospital operations and services.
- Perform other related activities to facilitate the functioning of the Quality Department.
Experience and Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Health Information Management, Nursing Administration, or Quality Management with a minimum of two (2) years of managerial or supervisory experience, OR
- A Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Quality Management, Health Administration, Health Information Management, or Nursing Administration with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory position.
- Proven knowledge of service delivery systems in a health facility or service-oriented business.
- Working knowledge of Quality Management and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Action-oriented with the ability to set and achieve targets, overcome obstacles, accept responsibility, establish standards, and follow through on actions.
- Highly motivated with leadership skills to empower, inspire, and collaborate with others.
- Operates with the highest level of confidentiality and trust.
- Critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail for problem-solving and evaluation.
- Ability to lead and motivate staff.
- Strong decision-making skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
- At least five (5) years of clinical experience, such as nursing, will be an added advantage.
Benefits and Others
The successful applicant will receive a compensation package based on qualifications and experience. The position is contractual for two (2) years, with the possibility of renewal upon satisfactory performance. Gratuity will be paid upon successful completion of the contract.
