Job Description
DOMLEC is seeking a skilled Draughtsperson / Surveyor II to support the Engineering, Transmission and Distribution (ET&D) Department. The successful candidate will conduct topographic and GIS surveys, prepare technical drawings and electrical schematics, develop estimates and bills of quantities, and contribute to the planning and expansion of the island's electricity network.
Responsibility
- Conduct topographic and GIS surveys.
- Prepare and update survey plans and maps.
- Produce electrical schematics and structural drawings.
- Prepare project estimates and bills of quantities.
- Collect and verify field survey data.
- Maintain engineering drawings and technical records.
- Operate surveying equipment and GPS technology.
- Assist with engineering and network development projects.
- Ensure accuracy of survey measurements and documentation.
- Support departmental planning and technical reporting.
Experience and Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, Community College Certificate, City & Guilds Certificate, or equivalent in a related field.
- Minimum three years' industry experience.
- Experience conducting topographic surveys.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and computer-aided drafting software.
- Working knowledge of GIS and quantity surveying.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Drone piloting experience is an asset.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of GPS and electrical engineering is an advantage.
- Valid Class C Driver's Licence preferred with at least three years' driving experience.
