Job Description

LIAT (2020) Limited is seeking a customer-focused Cabin Crew member to join our team. The Cabin Crew will ensure the safety and comfort of the passengers by providing courteous and efficient inflight service.

Responsibility

  • Greet passengers boarding aircraft and directing them to assigned seats.
  • Assist passengers in placing luggage in overhead, garment, or under-seat storage.
  • Announce and demonstrate safety and emergency procedures, such as the use of oxygen masks, seat belts and life jackets;
  • Determine special assistance needs of passengers such as small children, the elderly or persons with disabilities.
  • Answer passengers’ questions about flights, aircraft, weather, travel routes and services, arrival times, or schedules
  • Inspect and clean cabins, checking for any problems and making sure that cabins are in order.
  • Serve beverages to passengers,
  • Conduct periodic trips through the cabin to ensure passenger comfort and to verify that passengers have complied with federal regulations prior to takeoffs and landings.
  • Announce flight delays and descent preparations.
  • Attend preflight briefings concerning weather, altitudes, routes, emergency procedures, crew coordination, lengths of flights, food and beverage services offered, and numbers of passengers.
  • Prepare passengers and aircraft for landing, following procedures.
  • Check to ensure that beverages, reading material, emergency equipment, and other supplies are aboard and are in adequate supply.
  • Reassure passengers when situations such as turbulence are encountered.
  • Verify that first aid kits and other emergency equipment, including fire extinguishers and oxygen bottles, are in working order.
  • Direct and assist passengers in emergency procedures, such as evacuating a plane following an emergency landing.
  • Administer first aid to passengers in distress.
  • Comply with all relevant manuals; mainly the Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Perform other duties that may be reasonably required as commensurate with the position.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 CXC subjects including Mathematics & English.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a customer service position.
  • Successful completion of the airline’s training course
