Warner Road

Warner Road is a rural mountain route in Saint Paul Parish, Dominica. It connects the Edward Oliver Leblanc Highway and Jimmit Industrial Road in Jimmit to the Layou Road in Layou Park. This steep roadway climbs sharply through a volcanic landscape, running beneath the small mountain, Desjardin and offering wide, uninterrupted views of the Caribbean Sea. The road is surrounded by quiet, forested areas and fertile slopes, linking the coast to the interior.
Agricultural Significance
As it winds through the rural community of Warner, the road serves small-scale farms scattered along its hillsides. This area plays an active role in Dominica’s agriculture, particularly in farming root crops, bananas, and citrus. Warner Road remains a less used route for transporting produce from the interior to coastal communities and markets, strengthening the agricultural sector.
Ecotourism Potential
The surroundings of Warner Road also offer strong appeal for sustainable tourism. With its elevation, sea views, and natural terrain, it attracts hikers and eco-tour operators who seek authentic rural experiences. The route combines quiet mountain travel with access to heritage lands and local life.
