Stephan Pascal
Stephan Pascal (born October 16, 2005, in Goodwill) is an accomplished Dominican cricketer who serves as a wicket-keeper and right-handed batsman for the Windward Islands in West Indian domestic cricket. Notably, he captained the West Indies Under-19 team during the 2024 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup, becoming the first Dominican to hold this leadership role.
Stephan grew up in Goodwill, where his love for cricket was clear from an early age. At just two years old, he was already playing with a ball indoors, a memory his father, Augustine “Beno” Pascal, recalls fondly. During his primary years at St. Mary’s Primary School, he helped his school win cricket championships, demonstrating exceptional talent. A graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, Pascal went on to captain Dominica’s youth teams at various age levels, launching a distinguished cricket career.
Cricketing Career and Achievements
Pascal made his first-class debut for the Windward Islands in April 2024 and followed up with his List A debut in October 2024 during the 2024–25 Super50 Cup. He etched his name in national history by scoring a half-century (58) at the U19 World Cup in South Africa, marking a significant achievement for Dominican youth cricket. His leadership and performance earned him praise from Dominica’s Sports Coordinator as “one of Dominica’s most skilled youth cricketers”.
Sports Ambassadorship and National Role
In September 2025, Pascal was appointed Youth Sports Ambassador for Dominica, alongside treneese Hamilton, in recognition of his rising prominence and role-model status. As part of this appointment, he receives a monthly stipend to support his cricketing pursuits. In this capacity, Pascal now represents the nation in both sport and public service, bridging his athletic achievements with cultural diplomacy and youth engagement.
