Romanus Bannis

1975 General Election & Castle Bruce
In the 24 March 1975 general election, the Dominica Labour Party won a landslide of 16 out of 21 seats, and in the Castle Bruce constituency, Romanus Bannis was returned as the Member of Parliament. Castle Bruce was a newly instituted constituency in 1975, comprised of Castle Bruce, Good Hope, Petite Soufrière, and San Sauveur.
At that time, his victory contributed to the DLP’s dominance in Parliament. Wikipedia Over his later career, Bannis’s affiliations and representation shifted: in the Castle Bruce constituency profile, the list of representatives shows that after periods with other parties, Bannis later contested (or held) the seat under the United Workers’ Party (UWP) in subsequent elections.
