Raymond Casimir

Raymond Casimir is a Dominican cricketer (born 28 October 1976, Dominica) is a former left-arm orthodox bowler and left-handed batter who represented Dominica, the Windward Islands, and the Rest of Windward Islands in regional cricket. He is best known for his spells in first-class and List A competitions and for appearing in the 2008 Stanford 20/20.

Early career and playing role

Casimir came through island cricket into Windwards selection as a spin option who could contribute down the order. His style was economical left-arm orthodox, used to apply control in the middle overs and exploit turning surfaces typical of the Lesser Antilles. Official listings describe him primarily as a bowler, batting in the lower order when required.

Domestic and representative cricket

He first appeared at List A level for Rest of Windward Islands in the 2002–03 Red Stripe Bowl, a season when Saint Vincent and the Grenadines entered separately. Casimir’s first-class debut for the Windward Islands arrived almost six years later against Jamaica in the 2007–08 Carib Beer Cup, followed by a second first-class match against Trinidad and Tobago in 2008–09.
