National Training Agency of Dominica
National Training Agency of Dominica refers to the Dominica TVET Council, the official national authority responsible for coordinating all aspects of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) across the country. Operating under the Ministry of Education, the Council ensures that Dominica’s skills development framework is aligned with both national priorities and regional standards, including the Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) and National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) systems.
Mandate and Strategic Role
The National Training Agency plays a key role in regulating the quality and relevance of vocational training by establishing certification frameworks, setting occupational standards, and overseeing the accreditation of training institutions. It works closely with employers, public institutions, and educators to ensure that Dominica’s workforce is trained in high-demand areas, from construction and agro-processing to renewable energy and digital services. The Council’s certification processes enhance employability, enable workforce mobility within CARICOM, and build national resilience through skills-based development.
