Description

REZDM is an initiative dedicated to bolstering the resilience of Dominica's communities, particularly focusing on recovery and long-term sustainability post-natural disasters like Hurricane Maria.

About REZDM

REZDM emerged in response to Hurricane Maria's devastating blow to Dominica in 2017, with the goal to aid communities in their recovery efforts. Targeting the initial relief in the southern villages of Soufriere, Scotts Head, and Galion, REZDM prioritizes the establishment of sustainable community services and environmental resilience. With a local team evaluating on-ground conditions and actions, the project operates under the Daniel Langlois Foundation's leadership and funding.

Projects and Community Impact

  • Sustainable Development: Implementing projects that contribute to environmental resilience and community strength.
  • Child-Centered Initiatives: Ensuring children affected by the disaster can envision a hopeful future and contribute to ongoing resilience efforts.

REZDM's Vision for Resilience

REZDM embodies a vision where disaster-stricken communities can recover and rebuild stronger infrastructures, promote educational opportunities for youth, and prepare for a sustainable future. Through its dedication to both immediate and long-term community welfare, REZDM is a testament to Dominica's enduring spirit and commitment to resilience.
