DDA’s Marva Williams Invites Public to Wellness Fair 2026

The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) is set to host its inaugural Wellness Fair as part of ongoing efforts to promote healthy living while strengthening Dominica’s position as a premier wellness tourism destination.

The event, which forms part of the 2026 Tourism Awareness Programme, is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, at the UWI Global Campus from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Organizers say the fair will bring together wellness practitioners, healthcare professionals, businesses, service providers and community organizations for a full day of education, demonstrations and health-related activities.

Chief Executive Officer and Director of Tourism at the Discover Dominica Authority, Marva Williams, said the initiative aligns closely with the Ministry of Tourism’s broader vision of integrating wellness into both the visitor experience and everyday life for residents.

According to Williams, the event seeks to highlight the many ways individuals can incorporate wellness practices into their daily routines while encouraging greater awareness of preventative health measures and overall well-being.

Through the 2026 Tourism Awareness Programme, we are highlighting the many ways wellness can be incorporated into everyday life, and how it contributes to the well-being of our people and our destination,” Williams stated.

The Wellness Fair will feature a range of free services and activities, including health screenings, wellness consultations, fitness demonstrations and educational exhibits. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in expert-led information sessions covering topics such as nutrition, stress management, physical fitness and preventative healthcare.

Admission to the event will be free and open to the public. Organizers are encouraging individuals of all ages to attend, learn from wellness professionals and explore practical approaches to improving their physical and mental health.

The initiative also reflects Dominica’s growing emphasis on wellness tourism, a sector that has gained increasing prominence in recent years as the island continues to market itself as the “Nature Island of the Caribbean.” Officials believe the fair will further strengthen awareness of wellness offerings available on the island while encouraging healthier lifestyles among residents.

Williams said the DDA is looking forward to welcoming members of the public to the event as the country continues to promote wellness as both a tourism product and a way of life.
