The CBI Works, But the UWP and ERC Just Can’t Handle That

Let’s stop dancing around it. Without the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programme, Dominica would be in a real jam. That’s not spin, it’s a fact. And everybody honest knows it.

But trust United Workers Party (UWP) and the Electoral Reform Coalition (ERC) to be making noise, as usual. Every week, it’s a new press statement, a new voice note, a new fake expert bawling about “accountability” while pretending they can’t see the airport rising or that we have gone way past cable car foundations being poured in Laudat. It’s the same Bouyon tune on loop, “where D money gone,” “we not seeing norFing.” They sounding like a scratched Daddy Chess CD from 2001.

Well here’s where the money gone: go take a ride with Shyguy’s Dominica Tours. Start in Roseau and head to Jimmit, continue on to Grand Fond, Wesley, or go straight to the Kalinago Territory. Ask people who finally living in proper homes. Not plywood boxes, but Hurricane Maria resistent houses with standing seam roofs, water catchment systems, and solar panels.

Ask Miss Clarita in Castle Bruce who lost everything in Maria and now has a fully furnished two-bedroom. Ask that young father in Dublanc whose daughter just started an National Employment Programme (NEP) internship in a private law office in town. Ask the people. Not the keyboard warriors.

But no, the DLP Haters don’t want to hear that. They’re allergic to success unless it comes wearing blue.

Let’s talk about money. You know how many countries drowning in debt and can’t even pay public servants? Meanwhile, CBI has given Dominica hundreds of millions in foreign exchange without raising VAT, without borrowing from the IMF, and without squeezing small business owners to death. You think that’s easy? Go ask Antigua or Grenada how hard it is to run a country with no extra money coming in.

Yet, we have people talking like they can manage this country better when they never even ran a sukie bread depot.

And yes, you’ll hear them say “we want transparency.” But ask yourself, what have UWP and ERC ever done with a plan? Boycott the general elections. Create confusion. And now, stirring up overseas Dominicans to curse their own country while Skerrit building roads, schools, and international partnerships.

I’m not saying everything is perfect. We still have potholes. The DCFH still needs more medical professionals. The public service needs a shake-up. But don’t tell me nothing is happening when you have serious progress on Dominica’s international airport Project and cable car in the same decade. That’s not ordinary, it’s historic.

You want a scandal? The scandal is that they so obsessed with trying to bring down Skerrit that they’re willing to make the whole country look like a failed state just to score points. That’s betrayal disguised as activism.

So let’s get real. CBI is not the problem. It’s the reason we have momentum. It’s why foreign investors still look at Dominica and see potential. It’s why cruise ships still dock and why NEP still hires.

We don’t have time for people who want to fight just to say they fought.

Dominica needs builders, not bitter men shouting from balconies.

DLP Oracle

I am a realist. Few people I really believe in, and one of those has the potential to be the next Prime Minister of Dominica. Melissa will be by all accounts the next Prime Minister after PM Skerrit. I will certainly be endorsing her candidacy, and will be first by her side.
