Technical Assistant (Site Technician)

Job Description

The Dominica Water and Sewerage Company (DOWASCO) invites applications for Technical Assistant (Site Technician), tasked with the supervision of the Water Sector Strategic Development Project (WSSDP), data gathering, and design support for a major water development project. This fixed-term role requires a detail-oriented technician with strong field and documentation skills.

Responsibility

• Assist with supervision of the WSSDP, including keeping accurate daily records of staff, equipment, and materials usage on the project and reporting to the Project Manager.
• The Site Technician will be assigned to one of the four sub-project areas (Coulibistrie, Calibishie, Castle Bruce, or Grand Fond), with the possibility of transfer during the course of the project.
• Assist with the preparation of design and as-built drawings in AutoCAD and GIS formats, in coordination with the relevant project personnel.
• Assist with Data Collection and Field Investigations including location data collection using GPS and capturing aerial imagery using drones.
• Undertake other related assignments for the benefit and development of DOWASCO.

Experience and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Passes in 5 CXC or GCE Subjects including Mathematics and English
• An Associate Degree in Building and Civil Engineering or related field
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD
• Valid Class C Driver’s License
