This opportunity with Operation Youth Quake is ideal for an individual who communicates well, works calmly under pressure, and enjoys supporting youth. The Residential Care Worker will assist with daily activities, household duties, and nighttime supervision. Applicants should be compassionate, dependable, and ready to create a safe environment for residents.
Responsibility
- Provide daily supervision, guidance, and emotional support to children and adolescents.
- Assist with meal planning, meal preparation, and general kitchen responsibilities.
- Carry out household duties such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining common areas.
- Oversee nighttime and weekend routines, including overnight supervision as scheduled.
- Help ensure residents follow established rules, safety protocols, and activity schedules.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate concerns or observations to senior staff.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least three CXC subjects, with English Language included.
- Experience working with youth or basic exposure to social work principles.
- Basic culinary skills or willingness to learn.
- Strong interpersonal communication and conflict-management abilities.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and flexible shifts as needed.
- Compassion, patience, and genuine interest in supporting young people’s development.
