Bring your baking passion to life at InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa as a Commi Bakery. You’ll prepare fresh breads, pastries, and cakes with consistency and creativity. This role is ideal for culinary professionals looking to refine their technique in a high-standard, supportive kitchen with opportunities for early morning service and growth.

Responsibility

• Prepare a range of baked items including bread, pastries, and cakes
• Follow precise recipes and plating standards
• Operate mixers, ovens, and baking equipment safely
• Ensure adherence to hygiene and food safety procedures
• Coordinate with chefs to fulfill guest and event orders
• Monitor ingredient quality and assist in restocking supplies
• Maintain a clean, organized pastry workstation

Experience and Qualifications

• 2–3 years of professional baking experience (hotel, resort, or commercial kitchen preferred)
• Proficient in baking breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods
• Skilled in operating commercial baking equipment (mixers, ovens, dough tools)
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, food safety, and hygiene standards
• Able to read and follow recipes accurately with attention to consistency
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
• Creative flair and strong sense of product presentation
• Good communication and passionate about customer service. Good command over written & spoken English; additional languages are an asset
• Physically fit – able to stand for long hours and lift heavy trays or ingredients
• Flexible to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
• Certification or formal training in Baking or Culinary Arts is a plus
