Job Description
We’re looking for an efficient and customer-friendly Cashier to provide prompt and professional service at Unicomer Dominica Limited (UDL). If you’re organized, great with numbers, and enjoy working with customers, this position is perfect for you.
Responsibility
- Enter all relevant information from customer in the follow-up action box
- Sign deposit bags after all cash and deposit slip is placed into bag and sealed
- Bank cash on system
Complete reconciliation sheet in duplicate, entering all relevant information on sheets - Ensure that all supporting documents are attached to the reconciliation sheets
- Accept cash payments from customers
- Prepare statements and receipts as necessary
- Issue receipts and update payment cards and discussions to existing/potential clients.
- Encourage customers to pay on time
- Answer telephone promptly and courteously
- Ensure that cash balances at the end of the day
- Prepare cash for deposits
- Resolve customers' complaint with little or no help from supervisor
- Record and communicate complaints to supervisor
- Ensure customer understands payment terms
- Provide technical support to clients in the form of loans, cash flow and basic financial accounting and business management.
- Arrange meetings with sales finance vendors regularly and provide training/sensitization of vendor store sales teams.
Experience and Qualifications
- Five C.X.C. passes at General Level. Grades I, II or III in Mathematics and English Language is compulsory.
- Computer literate, knowledge of COSACS, Fact 2000
- The ability to operate standard office equipment, fax machines etc
- The ability to work well with little or no supervision
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills & Computer Literate
- Analytical and Mathematical skills
- Knowledge of Furniture Range Self-motivated & Proactive
- Strong initiative and Problem-solving skills
