Valley Road – Roseau Valley

Valley Road in Roseau, Dominica, begins just after the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) headquarters on King George V Street and ends above the Roseau Valley within the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, where it connects with the Boeri Lake Trail.

Valley Road Route and Connectors

Valley Road is crucial to Roseau’s infrastructure, which borders the Windsor Park Stadium and Botanical Gardens.

It intersects with where Elmshall Road joins with River Street near the Bath Estate Bridge. It continues upward passing the communities of Bath Estate, Silver Lake, Louisville, Fond Cani, Trafalgar and Laudat. Above Laudat it skirts around the foothills of Morne Micotrin (connecting with the Morne Micotrin Trail). When it arrives at Freshwater Lake, it continues for a few hundreds meters and joins with the with the Boeri Lake Trail. The Roadway Runs Paralell to the Roseau River and has several key institutions located along its lower course, like; Dominica Public Service Union, Dominica Grammar School, Bath Estate Community Centre and Community High School.

Connecting with various parts of the city, it provides access to numerous local businesses and landmarks. It is part of the city’s well-planned grid system, reflecting the historical development influenced by both the French and British colonial periods.
