Kavem Hodge

Kavem Ajoel Rakem Hodge (born 21 February 1993, Roseau, Dominica) is a Dominican cricketer who plays as a right-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He represents the Windward Islands domestically and has featured for the West Indies in both Test and One Day International (ODI) formats.

Kavem Hodge’s Early Life and Career

Hodge grew up in Antrizle, Dominica, and progressed through local cricket before captaining the Windward Islands Under-19s. He represented the West Indies Under-19 team at the 2012 ICC Under-19 World Cup in Australia. His first-class debut came the same year in the Regional Four Day Competition for the Windward Islands. He later played for Combined Campuses and Colleges while pursuing studies at the University of the West Indies.

His career advanced steadily across regional tournaments, and his performances earned him selection to the West Indies senior team. He made his ODI debut on 4 June 2023 against the United Arab Emirates, and his Test debut on 17 January 2024 against Australia. In July 2024, Hodge scored his maiden Test century, 120 runs against England at Trent Bridge, a landmark as the first overseas Test hundred by a Dominican player.
