Dublanc Playing Field

The Dublanc Playing Field is a key sports facility located in the village of Dublanc on the west coast of Dominica. It serves as a central hub for football activities in the region, hosting matches across various levels, including youth leagues, women’s competitions, and community tournaments.

Role in Local Football Development

The Dublanc Playing Field plays a significant role in nurturing football talent in Dominica. It has been the venue for numerous matches in the Dominica Football Association (DFA)‘s leagues. For instance, in April 2019, the field hosted a women’s league match where Mahaut Soca Striketts and Dublanc FC played to a 2-all draw, showcasing women’s football’s competitive spirit and talent on the island.

In March 2023, the field was the site of the third-place playoff in the DFA Central Cooperative Credit Union U-15 Boys League. New India Goodwill Runners edged out Connect 767 East Central 2-1, highlighting the field’s role in youth football development.

Community Engagement and Events

While known for its competitive matches, the Dublanc Playing Field also brings people together, strengthening bonds through shared athletic events. The DFA, in collaboration with local communities, has organized grassroots festivals and training sessions at the field to promote football development among young players. These initiatives aim to instill a love for the game and develop fundamental skills among children from an early age.

Infrastructure and Facilities at Dublanc Playing Field

While not as large as the Windsor Park Stadium in Roseau, the Dublanc Playing Field is equipped to host local and regional matches. Its accessibility and community-centered location make it an ideal venue for fostering local talent and hosting events that bring together residents and football enthusiasts from surrounding areas.
