The facility was officially opened in April 2013, replacing a rented building that had served the community for over 12 years. Constructed at a cost of $3.7 million, the station was funded by the government of Venezuela and aims to enhance law enforcement capabilities in the region.

The station's jurisdiction encompasses several communities, including Fond Saint Jean, Petite Savanne, Bagatelle, Dubique, Grand Bay, and Tete Morne. Its establishment reflects the government's commitment to improving public safety and addressing crime and violence in the south.
