Junior Meatroom Supervisor

Job Description

S-Mart Supermarket is seeking a Junior Meatroom Supervisor to help manage meatroom operations with precision and care. You’ll assist in product preparation, inventory oversight, and safety compliance while leading a small team to maintain service and quality standards.

Responsibility

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of meat room staff.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Oversee the cutting, trimming, and preparation of meat products.
• Train and mentor team members on best practices and safety protocols.
• Monitor and report on quality metrics.
• Assist in managing inventory control to avoid stock-outs and overstock situations.
• Receive, stock, and rotate merchandise according to company standards.
• Organize backroom stock and ensure proper product storage.
• Monitor cleanliness and readiness of the department for each shift.
• Follow company policies, guidelines and regulatory compliance standards.

Experience and Qualifications

• Five (5) CXC O’Level Passes including Math & English
• At least two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory role is an asset
• Prior experience in a meatroom environment
• Ability to lift moderate to heavy items
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Organized and attentive to detail.
