The inaugural Write-Tukubuli Virtual Literary Festival, a dynamic online showcase of Dominican literary talent.
Spanning six days of digital celebration, the Write-Tukubuli Festival aims to bring together authors, poets, storytellers, and word-lovers from across the island and diaspora for a series of workshops, podcasts, panel discussions, interviews, contests, immersive digital storytelling experiences and live streams, all hosted across the most popular social media platforms.
This year’s virtual Festival will explore timely and thought-provoking topics, such as the future of storytelling and A.I, with a focus on audience engagement online. Program highlights include:
- Writer’s Workshops led by seasoned authors and emerging voices
- Podcast features on writing life, craft, and Caribbean identity
- Short story & spoken word contests with audience voting
- #WriteTukubuli Challenges across Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and Threads
Writers, published or unpublished, are invited to register and participate in the festival by submitting audio or visual excerpts of their work, or by signing up to be featured in live panels andpodcast conversations.
“Dominica has a deep treasure trove of stories, rhythms, and voices shaped by our landscape and resilience,” says the festival team, “Write-Tukubuli is about claiming space in the global literary conversation, digitally, boldly, and authentically.”
The Festival is a collaborative production of the Waitukubuli Writers, Nature Isle Literary Festival (Facebook), Piton Noire Collective, and the Domnichen Poetic Circle, organizations dedicated tonurturing literary expression and creative excellence across Dominica.
